I’d add Holly Black to your list – I love her stuff (YA fairy novels). I also like Cynthia Leitich Smith – another YA author 🙂
I am so jealous you get to go to these things!
Comment by Jenn 09.26.07 @ 5:13 amI’ve always liked Diane Ackerman’s books and wouldn’t miss a chance to see her. “The Moon by Whale Light” and “The Rarest of the Rare” are my favorites. She’s a natural history writer. Have fun!
Comment by Catherine 09.26.07 @ 7:41 amDiane Ackerman’s writing is a delight. Get yourself a copy of A Natural History of the Senses and read a few of the essays before you go.
Edward P. Jones writes fiction that takes place in DC, so he’d be an interesting one to see. I have his most recent book of short stories and they’re pretty good.
BTW, I found you via a comment you left at Smitten Kitchen. I’ve added you to my blogroll because we have a lot of similar interests (knitting, cats, DC, gay rights, etc).
