We just had an earthquake!

ETA (2:32 p.m.): After a short evacuation, we’re back in the building. 5.9 on the Richter scale with the epicenter 90 miles south of D.C. Nothing fell off the walls here on the sixth floor, but you could see things moving, and I definitely was glad to be standing in a doorway as the building waved back and forth.

Rudi is likely heading home for the day, although that’s not yet certain.

I heard from a friend that she could feel it in southeastern Connecticut.

Crazy!!! Hope all is well! I’m kinda sad we didn’t feel it up here – CT apparently did!

I was out and about and stopped at a stop light. My truck rocked for a few seconds. But p here in Frederick, we take things like that in stride.

Only damage at home was a book fell off the top of the pile. But it was not situated on top of the pile too well either.

Apparently people felt it in the Concord, NH area, too. Amazing.

@Jenn: My family missed it too, although a friend in Norwich felt it.

@Mia: People here in D.C. who were driving at the time said they couldn’t feel it. I have a feeling that being on the sixth floor had something to do with it.

@Nan: Nuts, isn’t it?
