If you were going to knit a pair of two-color, knee-high, argyle socks, which two colors would you pick?
I don’t know that I would ever knit argyle socks, but that’s a cute pattern. If I did, I’d probably go for something similar to the picture but with colors more green, less teal. Is that in any way surprising? 🙂

Comment by MJ 10.07.10 @ 7:19 pmI’d probably do gray or navy for the neutral color, and teal for a brighter color, since I have a lot of sweaters in that color. But a plum and gray, or even plum and pink, would be pretty. Or red and gray, to liven up the gray November days.
Comment by Debby 10.07.10 @ 8:59 pmPurple and Lilac – like these only argyle instead of stripes http://www.sockdreams.com/products/socks/knee-highs/vivenne-striped-wool-knee-highs
Pink and Bubblegum – like these: http://www.sockdreams.com/products/pink-knees
And then for those more conservative days, brown and cream: http://www.sockdreams.com/products/sock-collections/argyle/sitm-mens-argyles
Sorry for all the links which will probably trip your spam filters. =)
Comment by Grey Kitten 10.13.10 @ 1:54 pm@Karen: Not surprising at all, but they would be lovely.
@MJ: I love all those combinations!
@Debby: I like the idea of teal and I like the idea of plum and pink. I wonder if it’s really necessary to have a neutral…
@Jenn: I knew I could count on you for the wild combos!
@GK: Interesting. That way you could still wear them for your color-appropriate day, right?
