I think Little Women, the Anne books, and The Secret Garden would be on my fifteen, too. I’d say To Kill a Mockingbird too, except in my memory the movie is so strong that I am not sure if it is really the book I’m thinking of.

@Nan: Both the movie and the book of TKaM are so powerful. I can see why Harper Lee never published again, although I think it’s a pity.
