March 1 and 2: Snow! It started snowing Saturday as Rudi and I were walking home from our late night pizza dinner. It mixed with rain and sleet, so by morning we were still without accumulation. It picked up again around noon when we were at the market, but the temps were just too high to allow it to stick. It kicked in off and on all afternoon and evening, and finally around midnight started to stick to the ground. Around one, Rudi and I went out to play for a few minutes before returning home for hot tea and bed.
This morning we awoke to several inches of snow and a delayed work start for Rudi. I walked to work and will offer up some photos tonight when I download them from the camera.
Everything looks so pretty. I know those of you up north are tired of snow, but I miss it, so am happy we finally got a taste before the cherry blossoms and tulips are out full-force.
In that vein, here are some weather-appropriate tunes:
Just saw White Christmas again this December; what a great ‘musical moment’ that was. Ah, the vacationers who come, enjoy a week of snow, and depart. :<)
Comment by Nan 03.03.09 @ 11:09 amNan, White Christmas is a family favorite of ours and I’m afraid that we are terribly inclined to sing portions of that song when the sky starts to look wintry. I do miss snow living so far in the south now, but my mother assures me that New Englanders have gotten both their share and ours plus some. Who knew six hours could make such a difference?!
