It’s been a few months since I’ve written one of these posts, but here’s what’s going on around here right now:
Hearing: I turned the a/c off for a few minutes because it keeps giving us an error message. So I can hear the fan whirring in the bedroom and the low melody of Rudi’s music (although it’s too quiet for me to tell what song is playing).
Feeling: Warm. The tightness of a tension headache coming on. Tired. The softness of the cat as he bumped against my foot. (He’s curled up on my flip flops.)
Seeing: A pile of clean beach towels. (The washing machine got fixed today! Hooray!) A pile of dirty clothes that need to be washed. My organizer not quite closed. A cat who got up after I wrote that last bit and is now staring at me in the hopes that I will fill his empty bowl.
Tasting: Nothing right now, but in a minute, the minty burn of toothpaste.
Smelling: The new laundry detergent Rudi used.
Give us a sense of what it’s like where you are.
Seeing: out clean windows. I sprayed with windex and then just ran the hose down the windows. They dried in the shade. I see a beautiful summer evening coming
Hearing: THE loud TV. Must get Fireman to turn it down a bit.
Smelling: We can smell smoke, but I don’t think it is from the fires out East. I do think it is why the moon had a pink hue last night
Hearing: the sound of water boiling and then being poured into a cup (I’m making tea). My husband clattering around in the kitchen. The distant hum of AC.
Feeling: heat from the tea.
Seeing: piles of paper on my desk. They’re always there, but they’re smaller than usual, and that’s nice.
Tasting: black tea flavored with peach, once it’s done steeping.
Smelling: the tea, and also coffee, because I spilled some on myself earlier. Oops.
